Currently reading and listening and writing. Lots. Being unemployed has it’s advantages.

After 4 years I feel like I’m finally at the point where I’m in tune with how comics and the process of making them work here. In short, I’m convinced that the art part of the work is all gravy. Good and tasty gravy but it’s purely a bonus to your protein. You can’t have a meal without protein. Are my food analogies annoying you yet?

So, anyway, that’s where I stand and I’ve been researching and putting most of my efforts into my characters and story structure. I haven’t really lifted my pencil in over 2 months. It’s depressing watching the days fly by without any evidence of progress but my brain and I know what’s up. We’re still high-fiving at the end of each day.

More info as my brain and I work shit oooooout.

Good luck with figuring stuff out.

When you go that long without lifting up the pencil do you feel like you get rusty that much at all? I do….

I mean it’s like riding a bike and all, was just curious if you did. :)

Genko – Maybe a little. During my Marvel tenure, I would finish an issue and chill for a day or two and then find myself in a slump. Now that so much time has passed since drawing I feel motivated TO draw.

depression go away :D
go draw alreay!
btw i wonder if theres any possibility to get your books in russia :)

hey Tak!

good luck working this out with..um..your brain? =) btw, Thanks for the ish #1 again; it’s AWESOME! I am sure the second book is just as good!

so when you said that you haven’t lifted a pencil; how did volume 2 come out?

So any good story yet?

hang in there, pal!

Kate – ordering through Amazon is probably your best bet ;)

Ming – I like the second book more. Being forced to draw so much makes you that much better! Yeah, I have about 3 on the go at the moment but I’m concentrating on the one I feel has the most potential. As soon as I get some showable art I’ll post em!
